The Donnybrook is an unofficial Marine Corps tradition. It can happen between platoons, between companies, or randomly between Marines anytime they gather. It usually results in an NJP and a few black eyes and Marines normally forget how it started in the first place, but it's all part of being in an environment with testosterone and little else to do to blow off steam except drink.
